Bookbinders Council

Misión

 

The Bookbinders Council aims to provide thoughtful guidance and creative insight for the Ah Haa School for the Arts’ Bookbinding program, the American Academy of Bookbinding. Our mission is to foster the growth of the program by supporting innovative programming, diverse educational experiences, and artistic collaboration.

Purpose

 

The Bookbinder’s Council exists to enhance the Ah Haa School for the Arts’ bookbinding program with specific focus on:

 

  • Curriculum Development and Standards
  • Access and Opportunity (Tuition Assistance, Scholarships, Mentorship, Resource Development)
  • Strategic Organizational, Administrative and Financial Growth

  • Creativity: We are committed to encouraging innovation and artistic exploration in bookbinding education
  • Connection: We value the leadership role the American Academy of Bookbinding plays in the local, national and international community with an emphasis providing mentorship, education and professional development

  • Advisory Support: Provide quarterly insights and recommendations to enhance the bookbinding program’s educational offerings and ensure a well-rounded curriculum
  • Feedback: Actively review and evaluate the success of past programs, incorporating participant feedback to shape future planning
  • Future Opportunities: Explore new ways to expand the bookbinding program, from emerging trends in the field to unique partnership opportunities, ensuring continued growth and relevance
  • Inclusive Growth: Promote an inclusive atmosphere that welcomes bookbinders of all levels and backgrounds to participate, learn, and contribute
